Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe came from a multi-cultural household. Her birthplace was within South London. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, and her mother is English. Her family was lived in a housing estate run by the council located south of London. In the ages of 14, she attended The Brit School. She earned her BA in acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She was a part of various performances on stage during her college days, such as King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Over the past few years Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe landed her first motion-picture role in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. After the film's success, Madekwe played Elisha on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi who was the leading character in the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe also starred as the lead character in How to lose friends & alienate people and be apathetic, which premiered on Sony Pictures Entertainment back in 2008. Her stage credits includes Little Sweet Thing or Roy Williams as well as Flight Path of David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes at The CW, and was later cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen to play Ashley Davenport. After being a regular for the first two seasons it was reported in late May 2013 that Madekwe would depart the series following her appearance on the premiere episode from the 3rd season. From 2014 to 2016she appeared in Salem on the CW as Tituba. Madekwe got married to her long-time love, Iddo. The two have collaborated in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he has also appeared alongside Madekwe in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, comes from the large Hamilton family. The four brothers she had were also present and included twins Todd and Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball parks since her brothers, who were all athletic, played hockey and baseball and basketball in summer and winter. Ashley didn't walk, instead she danced. When she was two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. Ashley fell in love with dance at this age. Until she graduated from high school, Ashley danced competitively in the top divisions in tap, jazz, ballet pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip hop. Additionally, she was awarded best soloist awards at all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more.
