Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American as well as a Canadian musician and singer. She's released over 20 albums. The music of DiFranco is classified as folk and alternative rock but also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23 1970 her parents Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco, who had been in contact while at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is Italian heritage, while her mother comes from Montreal. Ani's song, 32 Flavors, was composed by her and sung by Ani. This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco apologized for holding a conference in Louisiana in an old plantation for slaves. The course was later cancelled but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days later. Her name is associated with her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many music genres, from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. At 14, she began to write her own music. Teens were filled with singing them in pubs and cafes. DiFranco was enrolled in Buffalo State College when she was sixteen years old. She was a graduate of the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts when she was just 16 years old.
